Outdoor games and a desire for adventure for today's children

The spirit of the little protagonists of Jake and the Pirates of Neverland, the series recently launched with new episodes on the Disney Junior channel, kicked off the research "Do today's children still play adventures guided by their imagination?", commissioned by Disney Junior from FattoreFamiglia, the online community dedicated to families.

The online survey - compiled by 187 parents, 70% of whom with sons aged 3 to 7 - investigated the adventurous spirit of children in creative play and their ability to find alternative strategies. As perhaps you would not expect, given the spread of apps and video games, the research showed a clear preference of children for outdoor games (48%) over video games and tablets (32%) and 60% prefer between the readings the adventure stories where you can identify with the protagonists. It is precisely the disguises of explorers, pirates and cowboys that are the favorites of 29% of the target, confirming the inclination towards stories where the imagination can be freed more.

In addition, parents seem to recognize in their children a good ability to adapt to the unexpected: 64% of children in these cases demonstrate a behavior of exploration and curiosity towards the news.
