Marco Pannella, leader of the Radicals and politician of many battles, died

Marco Pannella, 86, historical leader of the Radical Party and one of the most committed political activists in our country, died today, May 19, in a Roman clinic. Pannella had been hospitalized yesterday afternoon, following a worsening of his vital functions; he had been fighting for years against two cancers, in the liver and in the lungs, which in the last period had stopped him in his political struggles, always conducted with tenacity through forms of non-violent protests that included hunger and thirst strikes.

In recent days, following the worsening of his health conditions, messages, gestures of affection and visits from friends and politicians had multiplied who shared part of their experience with Marco.
