Hair transplant
Hair loss for women, even more than for men, is experienced with particular discomfort and can lead to significant problems also from a psychological point of view. While a balding or thinning man may be aesthetically acceptable in our society, it is not so for a woman.
Although this disorder, known as alopecia, affects men more, in recent years also the female universe has been increasingly affected, and today it is not only women in old age who suffer from it, perhaps due to menopause, but even young girls under 30.
Assuming that hair loss is not always definitive and means baldness, as there may be causes related to the change of season, to a particularly stressful period or to medications that are being taken, it is good to consider transplantation among the possible solutions to problem, if the situation is particularly serious and permanent.
And more than transplantation, it is good to talk about self-transplantation, an increasingly used technique which, not involving the use of hair from other people, avoids the risk of rejection or allergies.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and light sedation and the duration of the transplant will depend on the extent of the treated area and the programmed density.
Each microsurgically removed bulb will be transplanted in the area to be redensified; bulb after bulb we proceed until we obtain an appreciable thickening of the scalp.
After the session, crusts will form on the treated area and will disappear spontaneously within a week or so. The first results will begin to show after about a month and after 4 months you can, if necessary, repeat the operation to improve or correct the result.
Who can undergo self-transplant
Anyone who has, preferably, already reached the age of 25, the age at which baldness tends to stabilize, can be subjected to this technique. The surgeon will then evaluate the extent of baldness: if this has a particularly high degree (measured through the Ludwig scale), it is good to underline that it will not be possible to proceed with the auto-transplant because the follicles to be taken would be too many and never enough to cover the affected area.
In any case, the surgeon, together with the patient, will have to evaluate and plan the intervention taking into account numerous factors related to age, expectations and the type of hair. The intervention planning must therefore be absolutely personal and tailored to each patient.
The cost
Obviously the cost of this intervention depends on many factors, including the choice of the structure, the number of bulbs to be transplanted and the compensation of the surgeon and any medical-hospital structures. In general, the cost for a single autotransplantation session is between 3,000 and 8,000 euros.
