10 things that only those over 25 have experienced (but which are now just memories)
We feel nostalgia for the past years, and the reappearance of the patches on the jeans proves it.
But, are we sure we can last even a single day with a 56k modem?
"Hello, is Matteo there?"
Nowadays, communicating with your friends is easy: between facebook, skype, whatsapp and smartphones of all kinds, it takes two seconds. Once upon a time the only telephone available was the landline one. Whenever you were to call there was a very high probability of hearing the friend's parents answer and having to talk to them in an embarrassed way, most of the time. Not for anything else we gave us telephone appointments ... "I'll call you at 4 o'clock, okay? You answer, huh!"

When you wanted to watch a program that you particularly liked, or a movie or a TV series, without buying the original, the only way was to find a "virgin" videotape and press REC on the VCR (yes, just him) while it you were watching. And then the search for a non "blocked" VHS began .... or the sacrifice of a less interesting videotape with the trick of scotch tape ...
Ciribiribì, Kodak!
At one time there were no digital cameras (nor smartphones with high resolution cameras) but only the classic film cameras, as well as disposable ones. They bought the films, took pictures and then took them to develop by the photographer, with the hope that at least half of them were decent ...

Remained in vogue until the late 1990s, the floppy disk is the ancestor of today's USB sticks and storage media. It seemed like a futuristic thing at the time, which gave the possibility to save up to 1.44MB of data. And to think that today we are used to USB sticks with a minimum of 2GB of memory, as well as external HDDs up to 1terabye. Ah, how time flies.
C "was once the 56k
We are now used to optical fiber, adsl and wifi, but once upon a time the only way to connect to the internet was the old 56k modem which, in addition to the sound it emitted when it connected - which will remain imprinted on our minds for life - forced us to to occupy the telephone line, suffering the ire of our parents at the cry of "I have to make a phone call, do you want to disconnect from the computer?".
Loading ...The good old Walkman
Before the mp3 players there were the cd players. Even before the walkman (what you see in the photo was already an advanced version, with the legendary "car-reverse"), which were a real must to keep attached to the belt of your jeans, to carry the music with you. And if the cassette was implanted? Cassette and pencil lived in symbiosis, where you were with your Walkman, c "it was a pencil. Of course.

How many sms did you send today?
When Whatsapp there was no such thing as the rates that allowed you to send text messages for free (or almost), there were some moments of the year in which the mobile phone companies offered ad hoc offers. The most common was the classic Summer Card or Carta Vacanze respectively by Omnitel and TIM, which gave 100 free sms per day or free "voice" minutes. And that has seen forgetfuls of all kinds filled in with 10 * 10 boxes to keep track of messages sent.
Oooh, my favorite song!
You were able to spend an entire afternoon listening to the radio waiting for your favorite song to play so you could record it on a cassette. The one that was usually fixed in the stereo, to create your own super mix.
We rent a movie?
Not only do you remember the existence of Blockbuster, but you remember the year in which this chain arrived in Italy (it was 1994) and especially when videotapes were still rented. No, not the DVDs, the videotapes. Which had to be strictly rewound, out of politeness and respect towards the next renter (don't you remember the anger of renting one that was not rewound?). And how can we forget the cheese and caramel popcorn as well as the mini jars of Haagen Dasz?

There were many versions: the most professional one, the one also suitable for teenagers and the one for girls ... having it meant being super hi-tech (and lucky). The electronic diary was a real step forward for technology. It has now been replaced by digital calendars on smartphones or on the cloud, even if the classic paper diary has not lost its charm or its usefulness.
