The Mammillaria genus includes numerous succulents from South America and Mexico and is part of the Cactaceae family, or those normally considered as "cacti." Being native to desert areas, it adapts well to life indoors with temperatures never exceeding below 15 degrees. This plant has no branches or leaves, but only small stems entirely covered with thorns. However, many choose it for its beautiful flowers that bloom directly from the stem. Normally they are in shades of pink and purple, but there are also white or yellow ones depending on the variety.


The only precaution that must be followed in the case of the Mammillaria cactus concerns the position. Never expose it directly to the sun's rays, while a semi-shaded area is preferable. Like all succulents, it should not be excessively wet so as not to rot the roots. it is recommended to water it only once a month in winter and once a week in the warmer months.

Echeveria

One of the great classics as regards indoor succulents is certainly her, the Echeveria. Appreciated for its elegance and simplicity, it belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is native to Central America, in particular to the Mexico area. It has depopulated in city apartments for its easily recognizable leaves. Ovoid in shape, they have a color tone that characterizes them, with shades of green, gray, silver and blue to give a refined touch to any environment. In addition, they have a light layer of bloom which makes them soft to the touch. In spring the Echeveria produces flowers on a stem that develops from the center of the plant. Their color can vary depending on the case: usually it ranges from light yellow to more intense orange.

Like other succulents, the Christmas Cactus also does not need great care. It should not be exposed directly to the sun's rays and needs mild temperatures all year round. It should not be wet in winter, while it requires more water in warm seasons, where it can also be moved outside, onto a balcony or terrace. Finally, a curiosity: it has been noted how the Schlumbergera purifies the air, reducing pollution in the environments that surround it.

Under the name of Euphoria there are several varieties of outdoor succulents, some very different from each other. One of the most popular is certainly the Euphorbia Mili, originally from southern Africa. It is easily recognizable thanks to its characteristic star shape, made even more special by the dots that extend in height along the shaft.
