These recipes are dedicated to children's snacks. You know, they are fond of all the snacks that crowd the shelves of supermarkets, but which too often contain dyes, sugars and excess fats. For us parents it is important to know that these snacks, which our children ask us too often, are reproducible at home and with simple ingredients. From an early age they are engaged in a thousand activities every day, from school, to homework, to sporting commitments for which the snack becomes an indispensable meal, like other meals.
Children continually need to be stimulated through new activities and ideas, but sometimes it is not easy to invent original situations. So why not involve them in the preparation of sweets that they can devour as a snack? Sometimes, preparing food with our children allows us to entertain and intrigue them, also giving them the opportunity to have a healthy snack.
The idea is simple: involve them in the preparation of their snacks, even buy them a little chef's apron that they will wear with pride. We make them knead, play with flour and ask them to hand us the tools or to form cookies. We explain that. we are preparing the snacks that they can then eat, and they will actively and very willingly participate. In this way we will be able to make them happy, making them spend a fun afternoon, plus the possibility of having a healthy snack, prepared with care, using ingredients that do not are harmful to health.
We can dedicate half an afternoon a week to preparing the chosen snack with our children and then storing them in tightly closed tin boxes, so that they can last several days and discover that cooking with children is a very fun thing to do. We will also be sure of what we offer our little ones.
