MAC cat food "s
Price: Between 1.59 and 1.79 euros for a 400g jar, MAC's wet food is appreciated by many cat owners. Compared to other brands, the feed is quite cheap and has a high meat content. food comes in many different varieties, so our cats have enough variety in their diet.

The good packaging statement stands out immediately: all varieties contain 70% meat and animal by-products, but even these are subdivided, so that it is immediately clear that they are not slaughterhouse waste. In part, they are including small amounts of fruit and vegetables.
Important vitamins and minerals are included as well as taurine. In addition, wet food is grain-free and therefore suitable for nutritionally sensitive cats.

The consistency of food varieties varies from firm to soft. Our 2019 cat food test lasted several weeks and showed that almost all testers have good compatibility with all varieties of the brand.

Cat Food Test 2019: Wet food in the mid price range

MjAMjAM cat food
Price: between 1.99 and 2.79 euros for a 400 gram jar MjAMJAM wet food is also one of the high quality feed brands. Cat food is available in many different varieties, even in more unusual flavors such as "horse" or "kangaroo", so that our four-legged friends certainly have enough variety.

MjAMjAM cat food in the test: it was very positive to note that MjAMjAM wet food consists of 96% meat and offal. The declaration on the packaging is also good, but it could be a little more precise regarding the individual amounts of meat and offal and contains important vitamins including taurine.

We also like the fact that there are both varieties that contain only meat, as well as those that contain a small amount of vegetables such as carrots or squash and mimic the stomach quantities of a prey animal. However, with some flavors like "Horse on Pumpkin", the amount of processed vegetables is over 5%, which is a little too much.

The texture of the food is rather soft and therefore easy to portion. Testers ate MjAMjAM's feed for our 2019 cat food test for several weeks. All varieties except "horse and pumpkin" tasted good for cats and wet food compatibility was great.

Another high quality cat food is Catz Finefood wet food, along with the variety named Catz Finefood Purrr. The brand offers many different flavors, and all varieties have a high meat content.

Catz Finefood cat food in the test:
Both Catz Finefood wet food and Catf "s Finefood Purrr contain 70% meat and no animal by-products. In addition, the declaration of the individual components is really good. Except for the" chicken and pheasant "variety, the food for cats is grain-free, and the fact that it does not contain binders such as Cassia Gum, which is partly used in other high-quality brands, is also positive.

Catz Finefood wet food also contains essential minerals, vitamins and taurine to keep cats healthy.

The consistency of cat food varies depending on the type of meat, but is generally easy to divide and not too "dry". from 410 g Defu's cat food promises organic quality, and the brand can also pay accordingly. Defu currently offers five different flavors for cats.

Defu cat food in the test: what is immediately very positive to the eye: wet food is really high quality and consists of almost 100% organic meat. In addition, the composition of the meat is very detailed and in quantity. The raw ash value of the feed is in a good frame for almost all varieties. Taurine, which is very important for cats, is also contained in sufficient quantities.

Also useful for sensitive cats with allergies: only one type of meat is used in the respective varieties, perfect for cats that do not tolerate, for example, beef or poultry.

Cat Food Test 2019: other brands that convinced our testers

In addition to MAC "s wet food, MjAMjAM, Catz Finefood and Defu, Leonardo and GranataPet products also convinced us. Leonardo is a little cheaper and comparable to MAC" s cat food, GranataPet wet food has a slightly higher meat content.

Leonardo
Price: 1.89 euros for 400 grams

Leonardo's wet food is grain free and contains essential nutrients for cats. What we don't like so much is the statement on the can. For example, for the duck variety, the quantity of meat is given only as follows: 'Meat and animal by-products (65%, including 25% duck)'. We find this rather vague because we don't know which animal by-products were used in the feed.

But the price is absolutely good. Another big plus: Leonardo is well liked by cats and the bowls always remain empty.

GranataPet
Price: 2.39 Euro for the 400g pack
Even GranataPet's wet food convinced us. The statement could be a little more specific, but it is generally sufficient to understand the ingredients well and acknowledge that this is high quality cat food with over 70% meat. Wet food is also grain free.
However, the fish varieties have not been well received by the test cats. Even for the human nose, flavors like "salmon and turkey" are not pleasant as they fill the kitchen with a strong fishy smell. Is this a good sign? The other varieties with meat may still convince us.
