• The anesthesia. Whether general or local, anesthesia carries risks that must be listed during the preliminary visit. Its consequences can be very variable: from a simple rash to death.

The bleeding. Internal bleeding that can be caused by minimal exertion. If the bleeding is not excessive, it will reabsorb on its own, otherwise the surgeon will have to proceed through a drain. In case of external bleeding: if the situation persists, the surgeon will certainly have to reopen the incision.

An "infection. It often occurs a few days after the operation. If it gets worse, hospitalization becomes necessary.

The scars. All surgeries leave a scar. The healing process will vary from one individual to another (it will be more or less rapid: usually it is 6-12 months, but it can last up to 3 years) and will leave more or less traces. Initially the scar is thin and beautiful , after about 1 month it will become red and irritated, and then slowly evolve towards the final stage, when it becomes white and flat.

The psychological risks of an intervention

According to a "survey by the University of Laval, published by the American Journal of Epistemology, having breast implants increases the suicide rate by 73%." This is due to the fact that women who resort to cosmetic surgery are often frail and lack self-esteem. The images conveyed by the mass media impose an unrealistic model and, at times, these women are disappointed with the results of the operations. Often, in fact, the new physical appearance completely disturbs the psychic balance of those who resort to cosmetic surgery.

Finally, there is a risk of addiction and some women end up multiplying the interventions, completely forgetting the dangers they hide.

Preventing Risks

- make sure of the skills of the surgeon you choose.

- consult more surgeons, collect different opinions to be sure and feel the best possible before the surgery.

- be wary of hasty doctors who give you an appointment too quickly (generally they have to leave you at least 15 days to reflect), and also of the advertisements that abound in the newspapers, since advertising is prohibited in the medical sector: in this case, therefore, it is not possible it's about professionals.

- do not accept any intervention without making the first preliminary visit.

- finally, be really sure before you take the plunge and don't neglect any aspect!
