How to sanitize the keyboard

To clean it thoroughly, make sure you pass both the keys and the space between them, where crumbs and dirt residue accumulate. Here are the best ways to sanitize it perfectly:

  • use a microfibre cloth, wet it with a little water and add a small knob of liquid dish soap.
  • take a can of compressed air, spray it in the direction of the keys and wipe gently with a soft cloth or cotton fabric. Avoid the paper because it will leave bits and residues, which could slip further between the keys.

Before proceeding with one of these two methods, you can also use a cotton bud to switch between one button and the other so as to bring out the dirt on the surface and remove it more effectively in the second step. You can also opt for a brush like the one you see in the photo below.

If, on the other hand, the main objective is to remove the dust, you can rely on a toothbrush or a hairdryer, taking care however to set it on cold air and not to prolong the treatment for too long.

All these procedures must obviously be done with the computer off.

How to clean the monitor

As with the keyboard, the best way is a microfiber cloth. Take care to wet it and srtizzarlo well so as not to leave too much water that could ruin the monitor.
Together with the water, you can combine:

  • a degreaser or a sanitizing detergent that is not too aggressive
  • of white or apple vinegar, as we suggested in the opening video. The latter is undoubtedly the most effective and least invasive mix to obtain an effective cleaning of your screen.

Absolutely avoid products containing alcohol, acetone or ammonia, as they could damage the screen, also affecting its anti-reflective effect.

Avoid coarse cloths, which scratch the monitor, or paper, which would leave lint and residue.

How to disinfect the mouse

Even for the mouse, the do-it-yourself treatment based on water and vinegar is the ideal solution.

Always take a microfibre cloth and wipe it over the entire surface; for the most hidden corners and crevices of the mouse, you can use a toothpick or a cotton bud so as to bring the dirt to the surface and then effectively clean everything with the method just described, or rely on a sharp object that allows you to bite into these points deeper and which must obviously be covered by the microfiber cloth in order not to damage the mouse.
