In September, when the summer holidays are over, the desire to travel, discover and be amazed by the beauty of our land is still very strong. So why not indulge in a mouthful of art?
A mouthful of art: the project that combines art and history
A mouthful of art is the project that connects twenty enchanting Italian villages with contemporary art. An unprecedented mix that was born with the desire to make a significant contribution in support of the art of our times and the immense historical and landscape heritage of our country.
The project is carried out by the Elpis Foundation which, open to internationality and multiculturalism, has as its objectives the enhancement and protection of contemporary art and the desire to offer visibility and active support to talent, in collaboration with Galleria Continua.

In September, 20 villages in 20 different Italian regions will be animated by initiatives from the world of contemporary art that will see the involvement of established artists and emerging talents, specially selected by the Elpis Foundation and Galleria Continua.
All the art installations will be inaugurated on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2020 and will be open for a month among the ruins, the views and the landscapes of the enchanting Italian villages involved in this praiseworthy initiative that combines the scenic beauties, which our country offers, to the " art, which has always been a jewel and pride of Italian culture.
Past and future, history and contemporary art, landscapes and personalities, together for a real re-evaluation of our tourism and the artistic talents of our country!
In Soverato Vecchia, with Matteo Nasini
For Calabria, the village of Soverato Vecchia was selected, a particular and suggestive archaeological site, 1300 meters high, surrounded by beautiful hills. The residential area of Soverato Vecchia was abandoned following a seismic event in 1783, yet, walking through its streets and its almost completely destroyed buildings, it is possible to relive the magic and poetry of the past. And today also that of the future, thanks to the colorful installations of the artist Matteo Nasini.

The Umbrian village included in the project A mouthful of art Massa Martana, on the other hand, is a medieval location completely restored after the 1997 earthquake and today it can be visited in all its splendor. Massa Martana is included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy and offers an unforgettable show! And from 12 September the show will be even more beautiful, thanks to the works of contemporary art by the artist Arcangelo Sassolino.

If you are in Friuli Venezia Giulia, give yourself a visit to Sutrio, in the Carnia valley, a village famous for its woodworking and furnishings, which since 1700 have conquered Venetian and Udine nobles. This craft activity is still particularly important for these enchanted places today. The artist combined with the Friulian village, whose works will embellish these evocative views, is Sabrina Melis.
At Ferla in Sicily, with Marta De Pascalis and Filippo Vogliazzo
Sicily is a region famous for its enchanting landscapes. Within the project A breath of art the suggestive village of Ferla has been added, rich in testimonies of the Byzantine, Lombard and Norman civilizations, which have followed one another over the centuries. Ferla is located in the beautiful Noto Valley, a UNESCO heritage site. Right here, in the beautiful setting, you can admire the works of Marta De Pascalis and Filippo Vogliazzo.
