Catering and aesthetics: the rules for an early departure
Although Premier Giuseppe Conte had announced the reopening of bars, restaurants, beauty centers and hairdressers for June, the prospect of an early restart on May 18 is becoming increasingly concrete, especially in some regions. "In the presence of a safety protocol for spaces, environments and activities, it will be possible to decide to anticipate the openings", so declared the Prime Minister, partially revising what was stated during the press conference of 26 April, when the Dpcm concerning phase 2 was made known. Obviously everything is still under development and, therefore, we will have to wait to have a clear idea of what rules the employees of the aforementioned sectors will have to follow. But let's take a closer look at the prospects that could emerge in anticipation of a possible opening on 18 May.
Bars and restaurants:
Rule number one: table spacing. There is also disagreement on this issue: Lazio proposes a meter, while Bolzano offers two.Employees will be temperature-tested every day before starting work, while customers will have to wash their hands and wear a face mask. Each room will be able to accommodate a limited number of people and it is assumed the possibility of delineating different lanes for entry and exit, also regulating the rows at the checkout through a system of horizontal signs. The tables will be sanitized at each customer change and we are talking about disposable tableware. The Italian Federation of Public Services urges locals to work by reservation only and customers to make digital payments directly at the table to avoid gatherings at the cash desk.
Hairdressers and beauty centers:
Here the situation becomes more delicate as direct contacts are almost inevitable. It is for this reason that, amidst controversy and protests, there has been a lot of delay on a possible reopening. However, this prospect may be closer than ever. For example, in Bolzano, where no deaths have been recorded, but only a new case in the last 24 hours, thanks to a provincial law, hairdressers, barbers and beauticians will be able to return to work as early as 11 May. The rules imposed are very strict: only one customer can access at a time and operators will have the absolute obligation to wear a mask, gloves and visor. The instruments must be sterilized at the end of each treatment and the premises must be sanitized frequently during the same day.
