Four-legged friends: love and rules to better live with the family

It is essential to know some basic rules when deciding to welcome a dog or cat into your home. The arrival of an animal is a beautiful and delicate moment and it is important that you are ready to welcome it in the best possible way, giving it unconditional love and teaching it how to live with you and your family.

The relationship that binds the dog to man is characterized by collaboration and reciprocity. The dog considers man as its pack leader and tends to behave with the different members of the family according to precise group logics. On the other hand, the location of the cat is different, which in nature is endowed with a strong parental instinct, so much so that often more females participate in the care of the young.

But how important are these animals in our life? And in that of our children?

For children, a correct and conscious relationship with pets, has a high educational value, because it stimulates respect, creativity, responsibility and the pleasure of mutual exchange. The same goes for the grown-ups. An animal knows how to give us love, loyalty and respect, making our life happy and filling our days.

In this regard, the educational campaign A Scuola di PetCare was born, promoted by Purina in collaboration with Giunti Progetti Educativi, Scivac (Italian Cultural Society of Pet Veterinarians) and FNOVI (National Federation of Italian Veterinary Orders), which returns to school for its IX edition.

A national PetCare education campaign dedicated to children and their families, which has involved, since 2004, over 450,000 children and more than 235,000 primary school teachers from all over Italy. Since 2004 A Scuola di PetCare has been bringing the principles of PetCare education to Italian schools to help children learn the basics of proper nutrition, care, knowledge and respect for pets and establish a serene and responsible relationship with them.

On the page dedicated to the project, there is the possibility for the whole family to find out about the animal world with very simple and fun slides.

But above all there is the possibility for teachers to download an educational kit to set up lessons and disseminate basic information in order to learn about PetCare education.

The project proposes a path of group activities to be done at school, with the mediation of the teacher, activities that pupils can carry out at school or at home, independently and a prize competition for the class.
