What is polycystic ovary syndrome?
PCO syndrome (polycystic ovary syndrome) is a hormonal disorder that affects only women. In most of those affected, the number of male hormones is found to have increased. but let's talk about small amounts. However, in PCO syndrome, the large and unusual amount of male hormones disturbs the menstrual cycle and prevents you from getting pregnant.
The problem is that male hormones hinder the maturation of the egg. The follicle of the egg still forms at the beginning of the monthly cycle, but it does not mature, so ovulation rarely occurs and may never happen. And without ovulation, there is no egg to fertilize. Women with PCO syndrome therefore have great difficulty getting pregnant.

How to cure polycystic ovary syndrome and get pregnant
PCO syndrome is usually treated with hormones, that is, with an adequate contraceptive pill, in women who do not wish to have children. If you have PCO syndrome and want to get pregnant, this therapy is of course out of the question. Instead, cortisone preparations are usually prescribed to suppress the excessive production of male hormones.
If this is not enough and the cycle remains irregular, ovulation can be stimulated by antiestrogens. If this does not help, the doctor may inject gonadotropins, which are special hormones. However, the latter increase the likelihood of multiple pregnancy.
PCO Syndrome: Daily Tips to Get Pregnant Faster
In addition to the therapy prescribed by your doctor, there are also some things you can do in everyday life if you have PCO syndrome and want to get pregnant. Very important: avoid stress!
Stress is one of the many reasons why the menstrual cycle is irregular. Try to relax as much as possible without having a fixed thought about wanting to have a baby. Focusing solely on this thought will only make the situation worse. Better to look on the bright side: life goes on, you have friends, a partner, family ... soon your dream of becoming a mother could be fulfilled, but you have to be patient.
Many women with PCO have a few extra pounds to shed with more exercise and a healthy diet. In many cases, losing weight is enough to regulate one's cycle and ensure regular ovulation.
