Moet Hennessy bets on China

The ambitious project is the result of the partnership between Moët Hennessy, part of the LVMH Group, and SOE Nongken, a Chinese producer of bubbles. In addition to the cellar itself, the construction of fermentation cells, tasting rooms and a visitor center is planned; all under the design supervision of the Map studio in Hong Kong.

If we consider that in the last 5 years the consumption of wine in China has more than quintupled, we probably fully understand the reasons that lead Moët Hennessy to invest precisely in that area, with the future intention of further expanding in the southwest of the country, with the acquisition of another 30 hectares of vineyards for the production of red wines.

However, we will have to wait until 2014 at least to savor the first fruits of this investment: it will be high-end Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. And we, for the occasion, will be ready to raise the glasses.
