Lover shirts: the photographic project that tells the finished stories through the t-shirts

The idea for Lover Shirts came to Hanne when she discovered she still had a shirt from her ex in the closet.

How can an inanimate object be imbued with so much energy and trigger these reactions?

When a relationship ends there are tears, songs off limits, ice cream tubs emptied to the tune of All by Myself (thank you, Bridget). And, then, the t-shirts remain. Those T-shirts we used as pajamas, with the sleeves so long that we can still give us the illusion of a hug. Even though he's not there. Him, whose shirts have remained in our closet.

Carla and Hanne have decided to explore the universe of emotions connected to these t-shirts. The photographs portray women (and a few men) of different sexual orientations, ages and walks of life: some have left, some have been left; some are still single , others married. Each, literally in the role of the ex, looks in the mirror, answers the questions of Hanne and Carla and lets the memories surface. The result is exciting photos.
