Women in communication: interview with Elisa Belmonte of SpotX Italia
Coming of age is certainly an important milestone, both for a person and for a brand and, in this very particular case, for ours.
As the female turns 18, we have decided to start a Women Empowerment project that focuses on women who work in the field of communication.
Elisa Belmonte, Sales Director for SpotX Italia, answered 5 significant questions for us, telling us how important it is to pursue your dreams with humility and tenacity.
1. What is "being a woman" like in the world of work?
We start from the assumption that many steps forward have been made in the affirmation of the female role in the world of work, we see more and more women occupying important positions within the company organization charts, although unfortunately in Italy it seems that it has not yet been fully accepted. "idea of the" career woman ". Being a woman in the world of work is therefore not such a simple mission and this depends above all on the level of sensitivity of those you meet during your career path and on their ability to go beyond the stereotype of a woman not "up to" enough to hold positions of power and managerial roles.

Seen through the eyes of an eighteen year old still too naive and "distant" from real working life, women empowerment could only translate into the vision of a woman in a suit, sitting at the desk of an elegant office, on the 50th floor of a skyscraper with view of Manhattan: the classic scene of a film in short ... in which the variables that intertwine are economic independence, power and ambition.
3. Three words you associate today with "women empowerment"
Surely today, with a bit of experience behind him ... autonomy, authority and sensitivity.
4. What would you say to the 18-year-old yourself?
To the 18-year-old me, I would say not to worry when she finds the lift that leads to that much sought-after office on the 50th floor out of order; I would advise her not to be discouraged and humbly to climb the stairs slowly, because the road to the his goal will be so simple, but with the right tenacity and dedication, he can still try to make all his dreams come true.
5. How much need is there to talk about women empowerment today and what should be done?
I think it is essential to sensitize everyone to this issue and create moments of sharing, in order to dispel these false myths and overcome any type of obstacle.
