Skin care: 6 mistakes not to make for a great face!

Do you know how to take care of your facial skin? Many of us, to this simple question, would answer yes, yet, we often find ourselves practicing habits that we believe are correct and perfect for our face, which do nothing but damage it. That's right: the beauty routine sometimes becomes so automatic - and perhaps made in a hurry - that it is not so rare to run into some mistakes. But skin care is a fundamental aspect to be put into practice daily with the right precautions, to show off a face at the top and avoid discomfort, including couperose, dilated pores and blackheads, redness or the classic problems of too much skin. dry, oily or sensitive.

Before discovering what are the things we do most often and that we should instead avoid for the sake of our skin, let's discover in this video the beauty secret of a star who always appears young, rested and radiant: Gwyneth Paltrow.

1. For good skin care you shouldn't use too hot water on your face!

Our face, especially in the morning, needs cold water which immediately helps to diminish the signs of fatigue and shrink pores. On the contrary, hot water dilates the blood vessels, thus causing possible redness, a risk made even greater if you are prone to acne or rosacea.
A good gesture that invigorates to be included in our morning beauty routine? Very simple: place an ice cube wrapped in a fine cloth napkin on your eyelids, and keep it for about two minutes. You will immediately be more rested.

2. Do you skip the tonic? Very wrong!

The tonic is an essential product to ensure proper cleansing and hydration for our skin. Detergents, alone, are not able to eliminate all the makeup or dirt that lurks in our skin and it is therefore necessary to resort to the tonic, which eliminates any residue and makes the skin perfectly cleansed and, above all, very receptive. Any treatment following the tonic will be better absorbed by the skin and, consequently, it will immediately appear more hydrated and velvety, as well as refreshed.

3. Choose a product that is suitable for your age!

Each age has its own characteristics and needs. If at 20 you need to hydrate, from 30 onwards problems grow, also linked to the hormonal cycle. So if at 20 a moisturizer is enough if you do not have major problems, from 30 onwards you need to start using a serum, and, if the first signs of aging begin to appear, such as small wrinkles, spots and skin relaxation, more creams performing and targeted.
Do not think, therefore, that a product is worth the other or that the newer it is, the more it will do you good or, even worse, that the more it costs, the more effective it will be. None of this!

4. You don't have to use too many products: focus on quality, not quantity!

If your beauty case looks like Mary Poppins bag, maybe you are doing something wrong! We often mess a little with the products, we use too many of them and the risk is to alter the hydrolipidic protective film and encounter a problem of false dehydration. The skin, that is, is not really dry, but if the sensation is the same. Better to focus on a few products, but specific.

5. You don't have to forget about sunscreen in the winter

The sun is not there so a cream with a protection factor is not needed, right? Wrong! Especially because the aggressions from pollution are strong, due to the strengthened combination of ozone contained in the air and UV rays, which also affect in winter.
Ozone is in fact one of the main oxidizing agents present in smog, while UV rays penetrate the epidermis (UVB) or the dermis (Grapes) and induce the release of enzymes that degrade the tissues. Never go below an SPF of 20, even when the sky is overcast.

6. Don't use the eye area? Error!

The skin around the eyes is much finer and more fragile than the rest of the face; skin relaxation and signs of fatigue are initially read right around the gaze.
Our beauty routine must therefore ensure particular care for the eye contour with the application, in this delicate area, only of specific cosmetics (for example lifting, anti-fatigue, anti-aging, anti-aging).
