Take care of your hair

If you use the straightener regularly, the most important thing is to take good care of your hair. As well as natural aggressions such as wind and sun, even the straightener weakens the hair, due to the very strong heat it releases: it is therefore important to take care of your hair, to compensate for the "evil" you do to it! Even if you choose the most advanced technologies, your hair will still suffer an "aggression (albeit milder) and it will therefore be necessary to pamper it more! Remember that even a trivial gesture like that of running your hand through your hair all day Furthermore, the ideal frequency to pass the straightener without damaging the hair is once a week!

Use the straightener correctly

> First recommendation: when you turn on the plate, do not leave it on waiting for it to heat up. The new plates, in fact, heat up very quickly and can be used even less than five minutes after switching on, sometimes even immediately, if they are the latest models.

> Use the straightener on dry hair. It is essential not to burn them ... after shampooing, let them dry in the open air, or use a hairdryer. There are new plates on the market designed to be used on damp hair, however this type of plate heats less, resulting apparently less effective, in particular because it does not give the shiny effect of a set!

> Use a preventive conditioner or straightening milk, specifically to be applied to the hair before straightening. This type of product is on sale at the hairdresser or in specialized stores.

> To start straightening, separate the hair into sections and insert a narrow section into the straightener starting from the root of the hair. Close the plate and iron the lock by gently descending towards the ends. The important thing is not to go over the same strand ten times and, instead, go down slowly enough (about 6 seconds), so that the ironing is flawless already at the first pass.

Take care of the plate

To keep your plate as long as possible and in good condition, avoid leaving it in places where there is water (such as the bathroom, for example) as humidity could damage the electrical circuits. Also, remember to clean it as often as possible, once it has cooled, with a slightly damp rag.
