Chiara Ferragni sends a touching message to the victims of abuse

It is an unprecedented Ferragni that is shown to her 20 million followers on the occasion of Denim Day. A Ferragni deeply disturbed and moved, who is not afraid to reveal her own fragility and empathy in the face of the suffering of others. With a post and some stories, our favorite digital entrepreneur took the opportunity to raise awareness among her large audience on the subject of sexual abuse. On the occasion of Denim Day, Tik-Tok was filled with touching videos in which some users, unfortunately numerous, testified to having been victims of sexual violence. The dramatic stories deeply impressed Chiara, who praised the authors' exceptional courage.

"Talk about it, because - today more than ever - you are not alone"

"I appeared on the home page and I was shocked by the amount of people who had the courage to put their face to it", explains the fashion-blogger, who highlights the good part of social media, noting how, if used with intelligence, they can act as an “incubator of great social messages, making the protagonists speak”. And talking about it is exactly the key to dealing with and, above all, metabolizing these traumatic events. Chiara, from the height of her role as influencer, urges her huge following to denounce and talk about it, insisting on how these are the only solutions to get rid of this burden.

Furthermore, the woman is keen to emphasize a concept that seems obvious, but unfortunately it is not taken for granted: “It was not your fault and you are better than how you have been treated. If you are the victim of something wrong, don't keep it to yourself. Talk about it, because - today more than ever - you are not alone ”. It is not uncommon, in fact, that the victim is unfortunately blamed and, therefore, for fear of this happening, many prefer to remain silent, even going so far as to wonder if they were not partly responsible for what they suffered.

"You are not alone, you are heroes", concludes Ferragni who, once again, stands out for humanity (remember that it was she, together with Fedez, who started a fundraiser to face the Coronavirus emergency), challenging and denying prejudices about one's own account.

What is Denim Day: origins and meaning

The hashtag #DenimDay draws its origin from a terrible news story, and consequent flaw in the judicial system, which took place in the 90s. A rapist is acquitted by the Italian Court of Cassation because the victim was wearing tight jeans and, consequently, the attacker would never have been able to take them off without his consent. The story has rightly aroused many reactions and controversies and the resulting social initiative is testimony to how much work there is still to be done before justice takes its course, fully taking the side of the victims. Without ifs and buts.
