"We want freedom": Ukraine asks for help. Watch and share the video, his voice must be heard
This is the speech that the young woman makes in the video (found below):
'I am from Kiev, Ukraine, and right now I am in Maidan, the main square of the city. I want you to know why thousands of people across my country are protesting. The reason is simple: we want to be free from a dictatorship, we want to be free from politicians who only serve their interests, who are ready to shoot, beat and hurt people just to keep their money, their homes safe, their power. I want all the people who are here to be able to lead a normal life. We are civilized people, but our government is made up of barbarians. This is not the Soviet Union. We want our courts not to be corrupt. We want to be free. I know that maybe tomorrow we will no longer have phones, the internet, and we will be cut off from the world, alone. Maybe, the cops will kill us. one by one, when darkness falls on the square. That's why I ask you to help us. Freedom is in our hearts, in our minds. And now I ask you to help us to have it in our country as well. You can help us by sharing this video with your friends, talk to your family, interact with your government and give us your supportor".

Which makes us understand how serious the situation in Ukraine is and how unfortunately it shows no signs of ending. The number of deaths and injuries that is staining Kiev and other centers of the country with blood continues to rise dramatically: today alone (20/02), the death toll seems to be 35 (to which yesterday's 26 should be added).
But what, exactly, is going on in Ukraine? Why are there all these protests?
Let's start from the fact that in Ukraine, there has always been a strong opposition between pro-Russians and lovers of the European Union, but the situation worsened in November, when the Ukrainian president, Viktor Yanukovych, refused to sign an association agreement with Brussels, as it is more interested in bringing the country closer to Russia.
This is how the protests began and the streets were filled with protesters against the presidential choices to move away from the EU. But things only got worse: in December the president signed an agreement with Russia; while at mid-January, to put an end to the protests and demonstrations, Yanukovich decided to adopt laws (moreover defined as "one of the most serious acts of democracy in Europe in decades") that limit freedom of expression and increase penalties for crimes of opinion. Although, following the violent clashes and the growing number of injured across the country, the free-killing laws adopted by the president are withdrawn, the protests continue, while the Ukrainian Parliament is expected to decide to meet to discuss possible constitutional reforms that go through. reduce the powers of the president.
