If I could, I would - see dads who would like to breastfeed their babies in these gorgeous photos

Is breastfeeding in public still a source of embarrassment and problems? How do women feel when they have to breastfeed in public? And how do fathers and men in general feel when faced with a woman forced to show her breasts in public to breastfeed?

These are the questions that a young father, Hector Cruz, asked himself at the birth of his daughter Sofia, when he discovered that he could not participate in the breastfeeding courses that his wife Nicole had enrolled in. In fact, men couldn't attend classes, and Hector thought about this: why can't men attend? Is breastfeeding in front of unknown men still a taboo? And above all: what could she do to raise awareness on the issue and get rid of this embarrassment?

Hector Cruz is also a professional photographer, and so he thought of using the medium he knows best to tackle the problem: he asked several men to have their children photographed as if they were breastfeeding them. In fact, the fathers in the photos are often shirtless, and the campaign motto BreastFeeding is "If I could, I would". This is the way this young dad has found to challenge the taboo and embarrassment of breastfeeding in public, to help both women and men tackle the issue with a smile.

"My aim is to show women the importance of breastfeeding, and above all to show fathers how crucial it is to overcome the" embarrassment or indifference towards this practice, both for oneself and to help them. their companions, "says Hector.

Breastfeeding is a moment of intimacy between mother and child, one of the most important for the balance and healthy growth of the child, but the father must not necessarily be excluded, or look at it with indifference. With these photos, tender and witty, fathers seem to feel that moment of intensity and vulnerability of mothers.

Hector's project does not end there: his intention is to collect the photos in a book, involving and photographing many other dads around the United States. With the proceeds she would like to create a Foundation that promotes breastfeeding, with the contribution of both mothers and fathers.
