Young people and sex: still many risks

In particular, the fact that women under 25 face their first sexual experience highly unprepared, facing unwanted pregnancies and communicable diseases, is of particular concern. Hence, since 2010, there has been an increase in the number of young mothers, about ten thousand, who give birth every year in Italian public hospitals.

The birth control pill is also very popular in our country: only 16.2% use it regularly, compared to 41.5% in France, 28% in the United Kingdom and 27.4% in Sweden.
