Four policemen, an elderly couple and a plate of spaghetti: the story that is moving the web

In Rome, summer is hot and quiet. The suburbs are empty and the sun cooks the asphalt: leaving the house seems like an impossible task. Even to eat an ice cream. Even to visit your parents.
Summer in Rome is even warmer and quieter in the Appio district, in the house of Jole and Michele.
He is 94 years old, she 89: they have been side by side for seventy years.

The silence is broken only by the journalist who fills the screen and the room with violent images and frightening words. Loneliness and suffering lurk between Jole and Michele's wrinkles, and a tear turns into a desperate scream.
Someone calls 113, assuming a family quarrel or the break-in of a thief in the couple's apartment.
And, instead, when Andrea, Alessandro, Ernesto and Mirko arrive in Appio, they find only the old couple, exhausted, sad. Alone.
And they decide to prepare dinner.

There are no forms to fill out. Codes are not needed tonight.
It takes being men.
Be true.

A simple dinner: spaghetti with butter and parmesan. The ingredient that makes the difference is the company of four men who fill the small kitchen with anecdotes told in dialect, spontaneous laughter and sincere smiles. Jole and Michele roll up the pasta on the forks: we like to imagine them shaking hands and listening amused silence disappear.
