Oscar 2014: the winners and Sorrentino's triumph

This year, the 86th Academy Awards saw the nomination of a plethora of actors, actresses and directors of the highest caliber and caliber, who vied for the gold statuette. But who won the prize? Who, according to the Academy, was good enough to be chosen as "the best"?

He won the Matthew McConaughey Award for Best Leading Actor for Dallas Buyers Club (again leaving poor Leonardo DiCaprio, nominated for The Wolf of Wall Street), while the award for Best Actress goes to the beautiful and talented Cate Blanchett for the latest film by Woody Allen, Blue Jasmine. Nothing to say for this victory, definitely deserved.

Still an actor part of the cast of Dallas Buyers Club: Jared Leto wins Best Supporting Actor award; while the wonderful (and very good, despite her first important role) Lupita Nyong "o won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for 12 Years a Slave.

After being in the spotlight for winning the Golden Globe, Sorrentino also returns to the stage, winning the award for Best Foreign Film with The great beauty, while, as far as animated films are concerned, the Disney film wins the statette Frozen (which among other things also takes home the "Oscar for the Best Original Song with"Let it go').

The award for Best Director goes to Alfonso Cuaròn, who wins the statuette for the film Gravity, who in all won six other statuettes (becoming by right the great protagonist of the evening): Best Soundtrack, Best Editing, Best Photography, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound and Best Special Effects.

Wins the award for Best Film 12 Years a Slave, the film directed by Steve McQueen and based on the autobiography of Solomon Northup, played in the film by Chiwetel Eijiofor. A curiosity: it is the first time in 86 years that a black director has won the award for this category .. congratulations to Steve !
