Being born despite the Coronavirus: when life is stronger than everything

On hard days like these it is inevitable to talk about deaths and illnesses. This does nothing but push us into a vortex of anguish and stress from which it seems impossible to free ourselves. But, perhaps, there is a way out. In dramatic situations like the one we are experiencing today on our skin, it is important - if not fundamental - to focus on positive thoughts and remind ourselves that, despite everything, wonderful things still happen in the world. And what is more wonderful than life? Life that, like a flower in the desert, goes on in spite of death, fear and adversity.

If, on the one hand, in fact, the bulletins of the Civil Protection tell us of hundreds of deaths a day, on the other hand, there is a somewhat special bulletin that, perhaps, is worth knowing in order to smile again.

For example, on Sunday alone, 1123 children were born in Italy and, if that doesn't seem like a big deal, you should know that 125 births were registered in Mondovì in March, an increase of 25% compared to the relative data. at the same period in 2019.

And then there is Aurora who returns to give us hope. This is the little girl born a few days ago in Moncenisio, the town which, with its 40 inhabitants, is the least populated of all the beautiful country. Her name could not have been more appropriate for the one who, coming into the world, has pierced the darkness of death with the dazzling light of a new life.

In moments of despair, then, it is good to remember that life does not stop, that all this will pass and we will return to go out, to hug, to travel, to be happy, but, above all, to feel alive as and, perhaps, also more than before, with the awareness of how much those little things that we used to take for granted are worth.
