We know you know what we are talking about. Discomfort exists and reigns around us, always. But what is discomfort really? Can it be explained?
Discomfort is that mixture of embarrassment, restlessness and a sense of collective inadequacy that permeates our society. Anyone yelling on the subway for no apparent reason? Unease. You discover that your trusted bakery, who is 70, has a secret life and a "20-year-old lover? Uncomfortable. Does your boss try to be nice to you, making inappropriate jokes? Extremely uncomfortable. Your unsuspecting neighbor, a a little balding, out of fashion and hyper reserved, in reality he is a super fan of death metal.
The discomfort cannot be explained, it is perceived. But we try the same, to categorize it.

For example, discovering the absurd way that yes, your parents have sex too. Or that your little brother watches porn. Or that your colleagues, who seem to hate each other, are actually waiting for everyone to leave the office to break into the server room. Ewwwww. Discomfort.
