Design orange peels

A plate, a spoon, a bottle, a container, a salt shaker and a cup 100% biodegradable, obtained from citrus peels left to dry in the sun to be subsequently pressed and molded (clearly by hand) according to the object.

To prevent the skin from rotting, the exterior was coated with a non-toxic paint that preserves it and makes it waterproof. a perennial optimist and has chosen to exploit a material readily available in nature, which allows for different shades and range of colors based on the citrus fruit used.

The line is part of a designer's project and is not for sale. But Sonnenschein's idea could be reproduced, in a small way, even at home, perhaps by creating a simple candle. It will be enough to make an incision on the entire diameter of the orange, removing an upper quarter of the peel. Remove the orange, trying to leave the white part in the center (which will serve as a wick), fill with olive oil and light the wick. The candle will remain lit for a couple of hours and the essential oils of the peel will release a delicious scent. .
