How is double cleansing performed?
In the Korean beauty routine, to perform the double cleansing, an oil-based cleanser is used as the first step, specifically a cleansing oil or a cleansing balm.
The face must be completely dry and it is important that the hands are too: after dispensing a small amount of product on the palm of the hand, you begin to gently massage the face focusing on the T-zone and on the parts of the face where we have applied the most of the makeup.
If you have chosen an oil, this will be very effective in removing even the most stubborn and waterproof make-up, but the formulation could be heavy if you have combination or oily skin. The balms, on the other hand, melt in contact with the heat of the hands, transforming into oil and then in contact with water they form a milky liquid that removes all dirt in a very pleasant way. When is double cleansing done?
So far we have seen the main rules for performing a correct double facial cleansing, but when should the treatment be performed? Is there a specific time of day? These questions are perfectly legitimate, so here are the answers.
First of all we would like to specify that a lot depends on the type of skin, even if the double cleansing should be done mainly in the evening to remove all the residues of make-up, dirt and anything else, which have deposited on the face during the day. it is during the night that the skin regenerates and expels all toxins and dead cells, therefore rinsing the face with water is not enough to eliminate all waste particles, so the use of a specific cleanser becomes essential.
For the oil-based cleanser you can be more elastic and decide according to your skin type, while the water-based cleanser cannot be missing.
If you have oily skin, you may need to double cleanse your face in the morning as well to remove excess oil. If, on the other hand, you have dry or very sensitive skin, you can skip this step in the morning as long as you did it in the evening. If the evening routine has been particularly rich, for example if you have applied a sleeping mask to plump and nourish the skin, upon awakening you can remove all residues with an oily cleanser to help clean the skin better.
Why is it important to be constant in double cleansing?
Double cleansing is important because it cleanses the skin thoroughly, but the results will only be visible with a certain amount of consistency. Here are some tips to follow in order not to get caught up in laziness.
- Deeply cleanse your face both in the morning and in the evening (unless you have particularly sensitive or dry skin).
- Avoid going to bed without taking off your make-up, in this way you will favor the occlusion of the pores and the skin will appear dull, gray, dull and full of blackheads and imperfections.
- Prefer delicate products that do not attack the skin's natural hydrolipidic barrier.
