What if we take the lyrics of the songs literally? Andy Ventura's hilarious cartoons!
Battisti sitting in a cup of coffee, De Gregori looking at a female face with cherry-shaped eyes or an unusual Battiato between Sinatra and Beethoven in front of a plate of salad. No, we didn't go crazy, it's a nice game that graphic designer Andy Ventura had fun making: drawing the lyrics exactly as they are written. No metaphorical plan, therefore, but only a literal transposition with pop art colors and cartoon figures to illustrate the most famous pieces of the Italian music scene.
The result is really hilarious: a series of colorful cartoons that are a mix between the visionary and the hilarious. Here are the texts by Loredana Bertè, Renato Zero and the immortal Lucio Battisti in cartoon style. Aren't they hilarious?
