10 good intentions (credible and realistic) to be pursued in 2021
New Year New Life. We have never hoped for so much. We have never believed in it so little. Yet, something will have to change from one year to the next, or not? And if the change does not come from the outside, it will mean that we will have to push it from within. But how? For 2021, we are taking an alternative path: no unattainable good intentions not unattainable, but concrete and realistic goals, to be achieved in the short term. If you lack inspiration, we have collected some of them in this list: good reading and, above all, happy new year!
Love yourself
It is undeniable that there is a real obsession around weight, especially for us women. Every year we promise to lose those extra pounds, deluding ourselves that this is the key to our personal satisfaction. Breaking news: this is not the case. Of course, you shouldn't binge and getting back online is a panacea for your self-esteem, but before loving your body, it is urgent to learn to love yourself. Concentrate on what you like about yourself, even small details, and try to replace the verb "to change" with the verb "to value". Find a physical activity that you like, but, above all, that makes you have fun, and eat well not for size, but for your health. Only in this way will you find yourself in tune with your body.

If there is one thing, among many, that we will never forgive this ominous 2020, it is certainly the stealing of time that we will never get back. This, however, can turn into an important life lesson to be treasured. And so, if 2021 allows us to gradually reclaim our lives, let's make sure we live them for real. We do not waste entire afternoons on the sofa, in front of a PC or television, but we make sense of that - already reduced - free time we have available. Let's go out to discover the beauties that are also hidden behind the house, let's sign up for a pastry course, cultivate new friendships, in short, let's live our life at 360 degrees because we can no longer arrogate to ourselves the right to take our freedom for granted.
Buy less but better
Say goodbye to compulsive shopping and start meditating on the real shortcomings and needs of your life. Whenever you are faced with a product of any kind that arouses your interest, first ask yourself this question: "Do I really need it?". If the answer is no, go further. In this way, not only will you save huge amounts of money, but you will avoid an accumulation of useless objects that, sooner or later, will turn into waste with a (negatively) impacting on our already fragile ecosystem. Therefore, opt for more sporadic and targeted purchases and prefer quality and eco-sustainable products.
Walk!
Whether various and possible DPCM foresee that you can walk between one municipality and another, along the way home or only and exclusively from the bedroom to the kitchen, stopping in the bathroom, it doesn't matter, you do like Lazarus: get up and walk! , is a cure-all not only for the body but also for the mind. If you feel stressed, sad or angry - sensations that cyclically overwhelmed all of us during the past year - turn off your brain and start walking. I assure you that you will immediately feel relieved!
Read (at least) one book a month
I know, reading isn't for everyone. There are those who devour a book (or more) a week and those who, on the other hand, struggle even to read Mickey Mouse comics. However, reading is an important exercise for the mind and spirit and for this reason, if it is not included among your passions, we advise you to try, starting gradually. You just need to find the genre that suits you best! Whether it is detective novels or harmony, it doesn't matter, what matters is to overcome mental laziness and keep busy with an "activity" intellectually stimulating which, once completed, makes us feel enriched.
Help someone
If you recognize yourself in a condition of privilege and / or if you feel the need to invest your energy in something useful, you just have one thing to do: help someone. The world is full of people, animals or causes that need your support - unfortunately - and 2020 marked a drastic deterioration in the general conditions of life on this planet. Browse Google or contact your municipality to find out all the ways or realities with which and to which you can help, showing your altruistic side. After all, we know that doing good makes us and others feel good.
Support local businesses
Craft shops, restaurants, pastry shops, bakeries, mini-markets, shops: if you are in a position to make this choice, in 2021 you are committed to favoring small local businesses over large multinationals. And not to spite the latter, but to concretely support and support the minor realities, severely penalized by the forced closures of recent months.
Establish "Digital Detox" Day
One day a week is enough to get started. Disconnect the internet and enjoy the real life, the one outside of social networks. It will be a real catharsis for the spirit.
Natural selection
Whether it's friendship rather than love, the time has come to make a selection. It is no longer acceptable to carry the burden of people who do not add value to our life. It is necessary to learn to grant one's "yes" only to those who deserve them and with whom we are pleased to spend our already-little free time available. Life, 2020 docet, is already complicated on its own, it is certainly not the case to get involved in relationships that do not make us happy, or rather, serene.
Don't get obsessed with good intentions!
That's right, you got it right. It is one thing to set goals, another is to make them an obsession to the point of self-flagellation in the event of bankruptcy. I understand that it is easy to forget it, but, write it down on some post-it, we are human and, as such, we can make mistakes. However banal and rhetorical, what really matters is to try, get involved, not give up at the first obstacle and, above all, have patience, because, sometimes, it is necessary to wait in order to collect concrete results. You start working on what makes you feel good and then, as Doris Day sang, Que sera, sera.
