Marco Bocci: "I feel like a big kid, even though I'm 34 years old!"

Marco Bocci is undoubtedly one of the most talked about characters in recent months, "due" to his romantic relationship with Emma Marrone, which now seems to be over. But his life, fortunately, does not feed on gossip alone: in fact, the artistic projects that see him as protagonist are different. We have just seen him on Canale 5 with the 5th season of the series “Squadra antimafia - Palermo Oggi” and he is the protagonist of “Italo”, the film he presented at the 43rd Giffoni Film Festival.
First work by Alessia Scarso, "Italo" tells the true story of a stray dog "adopted" by the town of Scicli, in the province of Ragusa, and died in 2011. A loss that still today moves the inhabitants of the village, who had used to seeing Italo walking quietly through the streets like one of them.
We met Marco Bocci and we asked him to tell us a few things about the film and his life.

What convinced you to accept the role of mayor of Scicli in “Italo”?
Undoubtedly the true story of this dog, which has left its mark and stirred souls. He was a stray, he arrived in a small town and knew how to make himself loved until he became the representative of a country. It is a true story that feels like a fairytale.

Do you love dogs?
I have a poodle and I grew up with dogs, so yes I've always loved them!

The theme of this year's Giffoni was “Forever Young”. What relationship do you have with the “little boy who is in you”?
To do this job you must have a not too latent child component. And I feel like a big kid even though I'm 34!

When did you realize that “when you grew up” you wanted to be an actor?
My passion for cinema was born as a child: at the time my favorite film was Pasqualino Settebellezze by Lina Wertmüller. I started acting in the squares of Umbria, then in theater shows for schools and I realized that this was my way. I made my film debut with Pupi Avati, who wanted me to The knights who made the enterprise and from there, fortunately, I never stopped.

Despite the crisis ...
And yes, being able to keep your career choices today is not easy and you are often forced to compromise. Fortunately, I was able to stay true to my initial ideas and did what I wanted.

I know you haven't left the theater either ...
I will never abandon the theater, because it is a great passion of mine. I was supposed to debut a new show in September, but had to postpone it due to a series of commitments.

Is there any role you played and in which you found a bit of yourself?
To tell the truth no, I never found a role close to me and my way of being, in short, that represented me. But I can say that I am very attached to the TV series Commissioner Scialoja Criminal novel, because she was my first really important character, in which I invested all my energy. And you know, the first time is never forgotten, as for "love"

What effect does it have on you to be considered a sex symbol?
“It makes me laugh, indeed I wonder what is behind this word. I lead a very normal life and I don't feel like a sex symbol at all! "
