The combinations to avoid
- Pay attention to the fabric of your clothes: thick wool sweaters can easily get hooked on beaded jewelry, such as rings or earrings
- If you are curvy, be careful not to overdo the jewels, which weigh down the silhouette
- The graphic motifs and large stones: too showy
- Necklaces that are too thick and close to the neck and elaborate collars
- Noble materials such as velvet and large stones, which give an effect casket.

How to wear jewelry
The necklaces
Close to the neck, they look good with a round neckline that reveals the bust. They are also perfect with a bustier and discreet earrings.
Avoid collars, which are too tight and long out of fashion. Prefer necklaces whose pendant goes down to the breast, elongating the bust.
Long, thin necklaces look great on sober clothing and their lightness goes well with naturally flowing fabrics, such as cotton or bamboo and light knits.

Ethnic jewels
Ethnic jewelry is often made from raw metals and the stones are not worked. To highlight them and stay in their natural tones, opt for neutral colors such as beige, white, brown.
Avoid associating wooden jewelry with printed fabrics, otherwise your jewelry will be invisible.
The bracelets
Anklets look great with a long, light, hippy chic style skirt or dress. In order not to overload the silhouette, put on shoes without heels, which reveal the foot like sandals, flip flops or ballet flats.
Circle bracelets: they thin the wrist. With a flared sleeve shirt, opt for various simple metal bracelets. With a fitted shirt, choose a single, larger bracelet instead.
There manchette: wide, covers the wrist, like a tennis cuff. With a halter-neck top, the cuff highlights the forearm.
Earrings
Long and thin, they should be worn over a fitted high neck or a V-neckline, because they lengthen the line.
Creole earrings are more beautiful in yellow gold or platinum, thanks to the golden hue that accentuates their sunny shape.
If you wear elaborate and long, very graphic earrings, free the nape and don't wear a necklace.
The brooches
Brooches decorate jackets, sweaters and tunics that are a little too classic. They only associate on thick fabrics.
On a straight-cut black wool jacket, put a gold or silver brooch with charms, for a vintage style.
To make a thick sweater more feminine, combine it with a colored pin at the height of the neck.
With a wool or stiff cloth tunic, opt for a colored plastic pin.
The Rings
Be careful never to overload your hands with rings, especially if you're wearing colorful clothing.
With a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt, opt for rings with colored stones.
With a puff-sleeved t-shirt or shirt, choose precious metals, discreet rings to thin your hands.
Headbands and clothespins
These hair accessories decorate your hair like jewelry.
With a baby doll-style dress, put on a large, colorful headband.
With a black dress or business suit, opt for a little shiny tiara on her loose hair.
If you're wearing a white shirt, secure a bun with a few metal barrettes.
