A Nigerian boy was brutally killed. His fault? Defending his wife from racist slurs.
Emmanuel Chidi Namdi fled Nigeria a year ago: Boko Haram terrorists destroyed his village and killed his two-year-old daughter. Emmanuel had managed to convince Chimiary, his life partner, to run away, to start over. From Libya to Sicily, up to the Marche. On foot and then by boat. Losing two other children.
In Fermo, in the Marche region, Emmanuel met Monsignor Vinicio Albanesi, president of the Community of Capodarco which hosts 124 refugees in the episcopal seminary of Fermo.

Emmanuel defended his wife. And the ultrà beat him to death.
Thus tells Monsignor Vinicio Albanesi to the Fatto Quotidiano:
Unfortunately, we know this gentleman well he calls all Africans 'monkey' and he is not new to fights. It provoked Emmanuel, who tried to defend his life partner
Hate and violence persecuted Emmanuel: they followed him from Nigeria to Italy, they killed his children, they massacred him, they destroyed Chimiary's life, who sang painful words in Nigerian at the vigil.

His is not an isolated case and we, Italian citizens proud of our welcoming character, should open our eyes: perhaps, after the sun and the pasta, we would see that our country risks not being so beautiful.
