What is botox hair treatment?

When it comes to botox hair treatment, a distinction must be made between a purely aesthetic approach and another of a surgical nature. In the first case, the one on which we will focus in the course of this article, the products applied to the hair do not contain botulinum toxin, but a concentrate of vitamins (D, B6 and panthenol), proteins and amino acids that help nourish and give new structure to dull and damaged hair. In the second case, however, the treatment, also known as Blotox, is carried out by a surgeon through injections of Botox directly on the scalp. This more "invasive" solution acts as a neuro-modulator and inhibits the sweat glands located on the head. In the absence of sweat, the hair stays cleaner for longer.

Who is it suitable for?

Hairdressers and experts say that it is a treatment suitable for all types of hair, in particular those chemically treated, tested by the sun and chlorine, subject to split ends and to all those who very often resort to the use of irons and plates, going to further weaken and dehydrate the hair fibers. The botox for hair, among other things, is easily modulated according to the needs: its application, in fact, can only concern the tips or the whole hair. Botox Hair Therapy is also excellent for those with very thin hair and want give them more volume or for those who want to eliminate the annoying frizz and strengthen fragile hair. The treatment, whose benefits are evident, has been so successful that many celebrities have decided to try it, including the splendid and talented Blake Lively and Megan Fox.

What does hair botox contain and how does it work?

You can use botox for hair both at home and at the hairdresser. Obviously, treatments done in a beauty salon are more likely to be effective. But how does this treatment actually work? It's very simple. First, a wash is performed with an alkaline shampoo, which opens the cuticles and eliminates impurities. After which the hair is gently dabbed to remove the wetness and proceed with the application of the product, a sort of hair cream rich in vitamins, proteins and amino acids whose curative action restructures the hair fiber from the inside. The ointment is applied to each individual strand, keeping a distance of about 1 cm from the root. After massaging the product to promote absorption, it is left on for 30/40 minutes. After this time, a rinse with cold water is performed in order to close the capillary fibers, sealing the nutrients inside them. Usually, drying is completed by passing a plate that fixes and allows the botox to penetrate even more.

Botox and keratin: what's the difference?

When it comes to hair treatments, care must be taken not to confuse Botox Hair Therapy with the more common and famous keratin. In the first case, the hair is subjected to the restructuring action of a set of active ingredients that help to plump the hair, giving it body and volume. Keratin, on the other hand, in addition to taking care of dry and damaged hair, is known for its anti-frizz smoothing action.

Before and after: what is the final effect?

The plumping effect of botox for hair is visible from the first application. However, for the effectiveness of the treatment to be lasting, the product must be applied once a week for at least a month. The duration, which can vary depending on the type of hair, is usually between 2 and 3 months. The hair will shine with its own light and will be stronger and more voluminous.

How much?

The price of this treatment may vary at the discretion of the shop to which one is directed, but usually it is around 50 euros per session. It goes without saying that a do-it-yourself solution is cheaper than a service performed by professionals in the sector. However, it is the first time that you approach botox for hair, we recommend that you talk to your hair-stylist and ask him / her for more detailed information.
