Davines donates over 40 thousand euros to support the forest in Madagascar
the 3rd Day of Sustainable Beauty promoted by Davines took place on 3 March in over 280 hairdressing salons. Thanks to the customers who have entrusted themselves to the expert hands of the hairstylists, over 40,000 € have been collected throughout Italy, entirely donated to contribute to the creation and protection of over 53,000 square meters of forest in Madagascar.
In addition, 6,000 square meters of forest will be created and protected thanks to the Zero Impact® yield of the event which made it possible to offset the CO2 emissions generated by the organization itself.
Thanks to the money donated by Davines, planting work under the LifeGate “Sakalalina Reserve” project has started in southern Madagascar. The goal is to safeguard local biodiversity and promote economic and social development in one of the most beautiful and precious areas, but at the same time most threatened, on the planet until 2024.
In addition, the young people of the community are receiving the necessary training to manage the planting activities, the nursery and the environmental supervision. The environmental education courses will also train young people destined to fill the role of tourist and naturalistic guides.
