Baby Bonus 2016: requirements, how to apply, amounts
The birth of a child is a special event that brings immense joy to families. It is undeniable, however, that raising a child, especially nowadays, can have a considerable cost. For this reason, the State has also decided to approve the so-called Baby Bonus for 2016, a financial aid to support the families that this year will host the stork. But who can access this bonus? How can I apply? What figures are we talking about? Here is the answer to all your questions.
Baby Bonus Amount 2016
The 2016 Baby Bonus provides, as in previous years, a check of € 960.00 per year, which corresponds to € 80 per month. The good news is that this amount is not subject to taxation - it is therefore a a net contribution For families with an Isee that does not exceed 7 thousand euros per year, the contribution is doubled, from 80 euros per month to 160 euros.

To access the 2016 Baby Bonus, you will need to meet certain requirements. Here are which ones:
- Your child must have been born, or been adopted, in a period between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2017
- The Isee of your family unit must not exceed 25 thousand euros per year.
- Have Italian citizenship, or citizenship of the European Union, or be a non-EU citizen with an EU residence permit for long-term residents, or with the status of political refugee or subsidiary protection
- Cohabitation with the child.
How long does the Baby Bonus last?
The Baby Bonus has a duration of 36 months - this means that families with the necessary requirements will receive 80 euros, or 160 euros for those with an Isee of less than 7,000 euros per year, per month for the first three years of the child's life. The starting date coincides with the date of birth of the child, or with the entry of the child into the family, in the case of adoption.
How to claim the Baby Bonus
The application must be submitted to the INPS by one of the cohabiting parents of the child. It is possible to submit the application in the following ways:
- if you have a device PIN, electronically by going to the official INPS website, www.inps.it
- by telephone, by calling the toll-free number 803.164 (free number from a landline) or 06 164 164 (number for mobile phones, rates applied according to your telephone plan);
- by going to your local Patronage
When to apply for the Baby Bonus
If you meet the necessary requirements, you can apply for the Baby Bonus starting from the day of your child's birth, or, in the case of adoption, from the day the child is placed in your family unit. Attention, however: the application it must be presented no later than 90 days after birth or entry into the family unit.
When the Baby Bonus stops
As previously mentioned, the Baby Bonus stops after the first three years of the child's life. The check can also be interrupted:
- due to lack of economic requirements (i.e. if over the three years your Isee is greater than 25 thousand euros per year)
- for the death or revocation of the adoption of the child
- for the sole custody of the child to the parent who did not request the allowance directly.
