Too many compliments harmful to children
Building self-esteem, especially in children, is important. However, it is necessary to be careful not to overdo it: even if we are faced with an insecure child, filling him with compliments would be even harmful.
This is supported by psychologists from Ohio State University and the University of Amsterdam, who conducted three experiments on 144 parents (88% of which are mothers) and 240 children. What emerged from it? That there is no need to use adverbs and adjectives when giving a positive evaluation to something our child has done or said: not only are they superfluous, but they can also have negative repercussions.
