iPod celebrates 10 years

Music savvy people will surely know that it wasn't the first to enter the market as a portable audio file device, but in a short time it beat the competition thanks to its unique and unmistakable design.

Steve Jobs, the father of Apple, created a product that would change not only the way of enjoying music, but also the fate of the audio industry itself: he also devised a new channel to upload and download, through legal sale, the songs in mp3 file format: iTunes.

The first model of the iPod could hold up to a maximum of one thousand songs and was available in two versions: 5 Gb, and 10 Gb. It is immediately evident that the device did not have a large hard disk memory, but was chosen for its extremely simple and minimal interface.

Although its turnover in the last period has dropped by 27%, perhaps due to the birth of its older brother, iPhone, it is estimated that Apple has sold 340 million iPods since its inception.

A true symbol of the world of portable music, whichever version you prefer: Shuffle, Nano or Classic.
