What is the rhinofiller?

The rhinofiller is an aesthetic medicine treatment thanks to which it is possible to reshape the appearance of the nose without resorting to surgery. It is a technique that involves the injection of volumizing filler based on hyaluronic acid, a substance that acts directly on imperfections of the nose, filling the irregularities and correcting the defects. In general, non-surgical rhinoplasty is used when you want to get an upturned nose, lifting the tip, or raising the root but also the nasal base. to undergo it, it is good to keep in mind that this operation is reversible, since the injected acid is reabsorbed by the body after a few months and, therefore, the result is not permanent. Furthermore, it should be emphasized that the rhinofiller is only able to intervene on the shape of the nose and not on the dimensions nor on the nasal septum, cases for which a surgical operation is necessary.

How does this aesthetic medicine procedure work?

First of all, the doctor takes care to subject the patient to some preventive tests, injecting a particular serum with a filling effect, reabsorbable in 24 hours, able to give a forecast of what the actual final result will be. During the official session, which lasts around 30 minutes, the doctor uses sterile hypodermic needles with which to perform the injections of hyaluronic acid or on the back of the nose, where there is a hump, or on the tip or on the base, that is, between the nostrils, to relax the muscles and apply the desired correction. For an "operation of this type, local anesthesia is not necessary: it will be enough for the doctor to spread a special anesthetizing cream on the affected area a quarter of an hour before treatment.

What is the difference between rhinofiller and rhinoplasty?

When it comes to nose surgery, there is a great deal of confusion between rhinofiller and rhinoplasty. Let's see together what are the main differences between one treatment and another:

  • Operation: the nose filler is an aesthetic medicine technique, rhinoplasty is a surgical intervention. The first is able to correct small defects, while the second acts on the size and functional problems of the nose (for example a deviated nasal septum or respiratory problems);
  • Price: the costs of the rhinofiller are undoubtedly lower than those of rhinoplasty;
  • Post-operative period: the recovery times due to the rhinofiller are shorter than those required by a surgical operation;
  • Effects: the final result of the rhinofiller is temporary and reversible, that of rhinoplasty is permanent.

Is it painful?

Being a minimally invasive operation, the rhinofiller is not painful. In addition, the anesthetic cream applied by the doctor at the beginning of the session will help to further reduce the discomfort perceived during the injections.

How long do the effects last?

The results of the rhinofiller have different duration depending on the injected products, distinguishing themselves in:

  • Temporary fillers: among the most common treatments, these are fillers based on hyaluronic acid or, alternatively, collagen, capable of lasting more than 18 months.
  • Permanent fillers: contain synthetic substances such as polyacrylamide gel and silicone and last at least 18 months. In this case, to cancel the effect, it is necessary to intervene surgically.

Before and after: what are the results of the rhinofiller?

The effects of the rhinofiller are immediate and the patient will be able to observe them immediately after the operation. The result appears natural and consists of a new, straight nose… in short, better!

Some important recommendations

This technique does not provide for any period of hospitalization for the patient who undergoes it, on the contrary, he will be able to immediately return to his home and resume everyday life. However, it is good to pay attention to some recommendations in the post-operative phase, such as:

  • Keep away from heat sources
  • Avoid massages or other facial treatments
  • Do not keep the glasses on your nose for at least 10 days
  • Do not wear makeup for a day or two following the treatment
  • Do not expose yourself to direct sunlight for at least one month after the operation, in order to avoid any redness or the appearance of spots. In this regard, it is of fundamental importance to sprinkle yourself with high protection sun creams daily.
  • Do not engage in intense physical activity for 15 days
  • Take your doctor's prescribed pain relieving and anti-inflammatory medications to prevent infections

Contraindications

Like all medical operations, rhinofiller treatments can also involve some mild complications, among which the most common can be: pain, hypersensitivity, edema, bruising, erythema, itching, swelling, infection and breathing difficulties.
These are rather mild side effects, which tend to disappear on their own or with drug therapy within a few days.
However, in rare cases, the patient may experience more serious problems such as blood loss, fever and constant pain. When this occurs, you should immediately contact the attending physician who will recognize and resolve the problem at the origin.

How much does the rhinofiller cost?

The cost of the rhinofiller is certainly not negligible. Usually it varies from 300 to 500 euros per session. Obviously, the more sessions, the higher the final price will be. The advice we feel we can give you is to be absolutely wary of too low prices, because this implies that the treatment is unsafe and of poor quality. If you want to make serious use of the nose filler and not incur serious consequences for your health, all you have to do is contact specialized doctors who work exclusively within compliant structures. After all, it is your face that you are talking about and making sure it is not disfigured cannot and should not have a price.
