Interview / Ambra Angiolini: "I'm not afraid of the passing of time. I live life as it comes and change my skin all the time"

Ambra Angiolini returns to the cinema with “Do you remember me?”, A film adaptation of the play of the same name which, here too, sees her as the protagonist together with Edoardo Leo.
A romantic comedy, perfectly in her chords and that allow her to highlight her talent. A talent that, sooner or later, will bring (also) behind the scenes.
Here's what he told us ...

Did you think that, sooner or later, "Do you remember me?" would he arrive at the cinema?
In reality it was in our thoughts from the beginning, only that we needed the right director and when Rolando Ravello arrived we got to work. But it is important to emphasize, especially for those who have seen the show, that there is only the plot: they are, inevitably, two completely different products and, I'll tell you, the film version managed to surprise me too.

I imagine you will have grown fond of Beatrice, your character ...
It was inevitable. I find her a winning woman, because she strengthens her flaws. Most of us, on the other hand, try in every way to sell ourselves at our best, to look like what we are not, among other things making terrible figures with those who are not interested in what we want to look like but in what we really are. Beatrice he has psychological pathologies and is not ashamed of them, on the contrary he lets himself be guided by them.

What do you think of psychoanalysis?
Psychoanalysis authorizes us to speak of pathology in the face of some of our behaviors. To be clear: each of us can be, for example, obsessive compulsive without knowing it.

How do you feel at this moment in your life? Are you satisfied with the goals achieved?
I have to be honest: I don't like taking stock. In the course of my life I have changed so many times that I cannot afford to take stock of the situation every time. And that's okay. There are still so many things I want to do and then my desire is to grow old with dignity, becoming a "charming krone of those who still resist and who are not forced to change their face to look young. think, this would be an innovative thing given that in the world of cinema you suddenly find yourself old for certain roles, which they only write for younger women.

And what are the things you would like to do in the future?
Surely a lot of theater (again next year I will be carrying around "The mysterious disappearance of W." by Stefano Benni) which, unlike what many think, is absolutely not a fallback for the actors. Indeed, we consider ourselves lucky to be on stage. And then, let's face it, you don't get old in the theater: it's one of those few places where there are 70-year-old women who do extraordinary things and are always goddesses. It is possible then that I decide, at some point, to take the experience gained over the years and bring it behind the scenes and maybe even behind the camera. I would like to help someone else stay in the spotlight. I have no jealousy. morbid towards others, I'm not the type who wants to be there at all costs, also because I've already been on the scene for a long time and sometimes I'm tired of seeing myself too!
