How to hang clothes to avoid ironing them

1. Do not leave your laundry in the washing machine

After washing, take the clothes out of the washing machine immediately: if they remain in the basket for a long time, they will tend to wrinkle more and it will be difficult to repair the damage without an iron ...

2. Beat the clothes well before hanging them out

This is a fundamental step: after taking out the clothes, beat them carefully and with a lot of energy, even 3-4 times, before hanging them. Pay particular attention to fabrics that tend to wrinkle such as cotton or linen sheets. If you roll them out properly, you can then go straight to folding them like in this video:

3. Avoid too strong sunlight

It may sound strange, but exposing the laundry to sunlight on really hot days can cause the fabric to harden. In these cases, prefer the shade: you may dry less quickly, but the fabric of the cloths will remain softer and you will not need to iron.

4. Use hangers to hang out better

For shirts, sweaters and t-shirts, use comfortable hangers and hang them directly there, taking care to button them and spread the fabric with your hands. The hangers will help the garments to immediately take the right fold and you will save time!

5. Use (well) the clothespins

If you prefer clothespins to hangers, be careful to lay the t-shirts and shirts with the collar facing down and arranging the clothespins at the bottom seam, so as not to leave unsightly marks.

6. Use even more for skirts and pants

In order not to have to iron skirts and trousers, spread them with 4 pegs starting from the waist, after having beaten them well and having pulled the hems well.

7. Take advantage of the steam from the shower

If you hang your clothes on a hanger and hang it in the bathroom, the steam from your hot shower will reach the fabrics and give them a real natural ironing! Seeing is believing. If your bathroom can turn into a Spa, it can also turn into an ironing room!
