Love and money don't get along
This is what emerged from a survey conducted by researchers at Brigham Young University in Provo (Utah, USA), after studying 1,734 married couples who were provided with a special questionnaire to fill in where they had to express their degree of marital satisfaction.
Jason Carrol, coordinator of the research, in fact explained: "Couples in which both spouses are materialists are worse off on almost every parameter that we have taken into consideration regarding married life. We have in fact deduced from the data that money, intended like greed, it corrodes communication, reduces conflict resolution and lowers the reactivity of one towards the other person. On the contrary, those who are less attached to money live a more satisfying sentimental relationship ".
