VivaGel: the condom that kills HIV

A double protection - physical and pharmacological - against sexually transmitted diseases. This is what the new condom developed by Starpharma promises: it incorporates a gel which, in laboratory tests, has been shown to inactivate more than 99% of viruses such as HIV, responsible for AIDS, Herpes simplex which causes l genital herpes, and the human papilloma virus.

The condom will be sold in Australia in a few months, having now received the Conformity Assessment Certification from the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration, responsible for regulating all products with therapeutic uses.

The goal of this gel, say the representatives of Starpharma, is to reduce the number of viral particles to which the person is exposed and therefore the possible possibility of infection: an extra defense in addition to the condom which, despite being the best protection from sexually transmitted diseases, it does not eliminate 100% all possibility of risk.

And while we wait for it to be marketed in Italy too, let's not forget, however, to continue to protect ourselves with normal condoms!
