Use: 1% pregnant women say they are a virgin

In the United States, 1% of girls in their first pregnancy declare themselves virgins. It might seem absurd, but there are data in hand, coming from a research published in the "British Medical Journal" and carried out by the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, on a sample of 7,870 women. "These are mainly very young women or women who had signed chastity agreements" - say the researchers, who underline how bad information is still so widespread, due in part to the lack of confidence with the doctor, but in general to a mix of beliefs, culture and other delicate dynamics linked to family factors.
