First week of work: 8 tips to manage it better
1. Treat everyone like Queen Elizabeth
It is certainly important to understand immediately the hierarchical ladder in the office: but whether one is your colleague, your superior or an intern, you really never know who will influence your work and your position. If anyone really forms their opinion of another in 7 seconds, it is good that in those 7 seconds everyone can think that you are a good girl.
Smile, shake hands, introduce yourself to everyone. Make a memory effort to remember their names. Anyone would hate a girl who constantly asks for names.

2. Don't be afraid to ask for help
Take advantage of the fact that you are the newcomer: in the first weeks no one, even for education, would dream of denying you a hand. Obviously if you ask, otherwise it is very easy to be ignored, each one busy with their daily chores. It is also a great way to break the ice, a pretext to start a pleasant conversation for mutual acquaintance.

Even if, objectively, the first day and the first week you will not have a lot of work (you will barely be able to access your new company email) it is always good to arrive early. Always better to have a boss who tells you you can start at 9 instead of 8.30 rather than one who wonders where you are at 10 in the morning.

You probably won't be able to really help your colleagues professionally in the first week of work. However, you can make yourself useful in other things and use them as an excuse to socialize.
Are you going to have a coffee? Get them for everyone! Are you making photocopies? Make them for your desk neighbor too! Don't be afraid to turn into the coffee or photocopier girl ... at least in the first week, of course!
5. Make friends with the secretaries
Secretaries and secretaries are those who have access to the calendar of the people who matter in the company. Try to talk to them as soon as possible and if possible make them friends. The administrative office is also the one that can approve your expense reports faster if someone inside is your ally!

Obviously it can happen that some nice colleague immediately jumps to the eye and therefore your predator soul emerges. But don't overdo it: you could be misunderstood and get a bad reputation in the decisive 7 seconds. Of course, do not refuse a kindness or a little semigalant break!

Even if your nearby colleague has clothespins on her head and is wearing a jumpsuit, it is a good idea to dress appropriately for the first week at least. The first impression is crucial and the dress is part of it.

Better to regret something you've done than something you haven't even tried to do. Throw yourself!
