Eco-friendly and mum-sized: aboard the new Honda Jazz
This is the new Honda Jazz available in two different versions. The first, "standard", is a bit sportier, while the second is the crossover-style variant, the brand new Crosstar version.
Space for everyone, many intelligent solutions and above all the hybrid drive that allows you to reduce fuel consumption and emissions and which, in many cities, allows you to have free access to the ZTL.
Honda Jazz has always focused on space and comfort and does not deny its fame even in this new generation. Despite its very compact dimensions, it is just over 4 meters long, offering a large and versatile interior, where all the controls are close at hand. The front seats have excellent lumbar support; the rear ones have thick padding, and the space available for the occupants of the second row has also increased, to the benefit of comfort. It is no coincidence that in Honda they define the rear seats as “Magic Seats”: they are sliding, folding and folding. In general, the materials used are ultra-resistant, childproof, and the water-repellent coating is also available on the Crosstar.
This latest version adds a few millimeters to the standard dimensions: it is higher from the ground, has roof bars on the roof and in general has a look inspired by the world of compact SUVs. It is a light and above all ecological car. Both versions are available exclusively in Full-Hybrid mode, where the 98 HP 1.5 petrol engine works together with two electric power units, one of which acts as a real power unit, with 80 kW (109 HP) and 253 Nm of torque. while the other 70 kW works only as a current generator driven by the thermal engine. Performance is brilliant, but fuel consumption and emissions remain very low. The most economical - albeit slightly - is the standard version. The hybrid engine operates independently and always smoothly the three driving modes provided, including the EV that pushes Jazz in electric with zero emissions for several kilometers.
Honda Jazz is a car that is pleasant to drive, quiet and offers excellent visibility thanks to the very thin A-pillars. The chassis is decidedly rigid, the suspensions reactive and in general the car ensures, also thanks to its small size, an "exceptional maneuverability, on different types of routes.
It is certainly a very safe car, from all points of view. It has 10 airbags as standard (including the exclusive central front), a high-definition wide-angle front camera to facilitate any type of maneuver and among the latest generation safety systems it boasts automatic braking (with recognition of pedestrians and cyclists also in the dark), Adaptive Cruise Control even at low speeds, lane keeping and lane departure warning. The eCall button for emergency calls in the event of an accident or danger is convenient and clearly visible above the driver's head.
Last but not least, especially for mothers, the ease of attaching the seat thanks to the comfortable and clearly visible ISO Fix attachments.
