"Who is she?": The female version of "Guess who?"
Here is a wonderful gift idea for those who were groping in total darkness just over a month before Christmas. The new version of "Guess who?", the popular board game that has entertained young and old since the 80s. The classic model was followed by other even more original and extravagant ones: the variant with Disney characters, the one focused on Marvel super heroes up to the present day , with the female version.
The original name is "Who's she?" (who is she?) and is the feminist reinterpretation of the game created by Theo and Ora Coster in 1979. If you are wondering what the differences are between the two variants, well first of all the protagonists are no longer ordinary people, but the great women of the present and past, those who, thanks to their talent and passions, have made history. 28 stickers, including the painter Frida Kalho, the scientist Marie Curie, the activist Malala and the Indian boxer McMary Kom. Each ticket presents the biographical data of the protagonists and funny and interesting anecdotes about them.
What counts for guessing, as in real life, is not the aesthetic appearance of the protagonists, but the great achievements achieved during their life. We will no longer ask "Does he have glasses?", "Does he have blond hair?", "Is he a man or a woman?", But rather "Did he win a Nobel Prize?", "Did he make an important scientific discovery?", "Did he win a sports competition? ".
Another feature that distinguishes this new version from the original game is the material it is made of. The dowels are made of birch wood protected with linseed oil to ensure resistance over time. The faces are also hand painted with watercolors by the artist Daria Golab.
The independent project, conceived by the Polish entrepreneur Zuzia Kozerska-Girard and financed by Kickstarter, an American website known for its support for various artistic initiatives, was designed to convey an ideal of women empowerment that celebrated the potential of women, from always mistakenly considered the weaker sex.
"Who is she?" it is a gift that has no gender or age limits and is particularly suitable both for the girls of today, women of tomorrow, as well as for the children of today, men of tomorrow, so that they can recognize the value of women as equals and not lower than that of men and learn immediately that, thanks to commitment and dedication, any goal is achievable and any dream achievable.
