Disney videotapes: childhood memories that can be worth a fortune
We observed them, side by side in a row on a shelf. We chose which one to see and opened the box, often finding a different title than the one indicated on the cover. We looked for the right videotape, inserted it into the VCR and sent it back until we couldn't hear a voice reminding us to buy "only ever original Walt Disney Home Video".
From there, an "hour and a half of songs, jokes we didn't always understand and princesses to envy their dresses.
Disney tapes have been giving us emotions and high expectations of boyfriends for 92 years.
Now, they might even give us some money.

Some editions of Disney's VHS could be worth a fortune: the American version of Ebay says so, which values a tape of Beauty and The Beast nearly $ 12,000.
Collectors, in fact, seem to have recognized the value of videotapes, especially those with a black diamond with the words "A Walt Disney Classic", as in the case of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast in the photo.
The videotapes with the rhombus are limited editions of cartoons: some even contain unreleased songs or scenes that most have discarded.
For now, collectors are interested in American versions of the cartoons, but soon those from other countries will also be sought. The hunt for black turbot has begun: our advice is, therefore, to get your VHS collection and wait for your happy ending!
