Erotic fantasies
What is an erotic fantasy?
An erotic fantasy is an imaginary representation of conscious or unconscious desires. The images, ideas or feelings produced by the spirit generate emotion and excitement, especially sexual. This phenomenon affects not only sexuality, but also desire and pleasure in general. The term comes from the German word "phantasie", used by Freud to describe the imagination.
First of all, remember that autoeroticism also has many benefits: here are some of them in the video below!

Everyone has erotic fantasies, at any age, consciously or not, explicitly or not. Also, women have as many of them as men. The only difference is that the latter are less modest and therefore speak more freely.
Where do they come from?
Erotic fantasies are part of a fascinating phenomenon, but which nevertheless remains entirely natural. It is even a symptom of good mental health. Most of the time, they come from a repressed unconscious desire. For Freud, these would form mainly during adolescence, from the first masturbation, or even in childhood (around 6 years of age).
What are they for?
Erotic fantasies allow the individual to isolate himself from everyday problems and correct some imperfections of the real world, from which the ego tries to escape thanks to the imagination. They correspond in some way to a compromise between dream and reality, drives and prohibitions, and procure an escape. Despite this, erotic fantasies do not correspond to dissatisfaction, but rather to an outlet that allows the individual to discharge social and moral pressures, which can often be very strong.
Furthermore, erotic fantasies are very powerful aphrodisiacs. Psychiatrists and sexologists agree in distinguishing two types of fantasies: the "creative" ones, which enrich a sexual relationship and awaken desire, and those that allow you to lower inhibitions and fully express your sexuality.
The most popular erotic fantasies
Some "erotic skits" may come to mind during the day or at the moment of the sexual act and are formed according to the personality of each of us. Among the most common, we find for women that of making love in a deserted and wild place (beach, forest ...) or in public (parking, lift, office ...). Then there are those about a relationship with a particular character (a celebrity, a complete stranger, a friend or a colleague). Some fantasies may also be based on "accessorized" sexual intercourse (ropes, bandages, food, handcuffs). Finally, certain erotic fantasies involve certain situations (having a homosexual relationship, with several partners, being the favorite in a harem or doing a striptease in front of many men).
On the other hand, men's erotic fantasies are much more violent, often of a sexual nature (anal intercourse, sadomasochism, exhibitionism, swinging or intercourse with two women) and are often the most fulfilled.
The disturbing fantasies
Submission during intercourse, scenes of sadism, rape ... Sometimes it happens that some fantasies move away from conscious desires and rather correspond to situations that one is afraid of. Some specialists explain this mismatch with distorted unconscious desires that respond to defense processes. However, if this type of representation becomes too strong, it may be worth talking about it with a psychotherapist or psychoanalyst.
Should you share your erotic fantasies?
While it is easy to talk to your partner about your past, your family and your experiences, it is not easy to reveal some hidden and often misunderstood desires. It all depends on the goal to be achieved. If they can give a pinch of spice to the couple's daily life and increase the complicity between partners, some of them can be uncomfortable, especially if the partner does not share them or, even worse, is not part of it! It's just a matter of common sense.
Should they be put into practice?
For some specialists, erotic fantasies must remain imaginary in order to stimulate the libido, otherwise they run the risk of losing their power and disappointing. For others, however, they must be put into practice to cure some inhibitions, to bring back desire and facilitate orgasm. Your instincts can help you decide: you have to understand if you are really ready to fulfill your erotic fantasies without risk.
