World Day of the Rights of the Child and Adolescent: initiatives and solidarity
In 1989, the United Nations General Assembly approved the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, a fundamental text for protecting the conditions of minors all over the world.
Like every year, this date - November 20 - is remembered with a day dedicated to information and reflection on the topic. Numerous initiatives and events organized in many Italian cities: workshops, activities, debates and solidarity initiatives. On the other hand, how would we do without the children?
World Day of the Rights of Childhood and Adolescence: some data
According to the Global Status Report on Violence Prevention 2014, 1 in 4 adults (25%) worldwide was physically abused as a child. It is estimated that in Italy they are over 91,000 i minors victims of maltreatment in charge of the Social Services of the Municipalities, of these over 30,000 are expelled from their families.
That figure would only represent the tip of the iceberg, since in reality the emerged cases of child maltreatment in the world they would be 1 every 9 effective.

Awareness campaign on the occasion of the World Children's Rights Day
Among the many initiatives on the occasion of World Children's Rights Day, the CAF Association launches one awareness campaign which affects various channels, from radio to the web, from sports to food, with the slogan: "Violence against minors is often not seen but can be heard: it is enough to know how to listen".
These are three commercials produced pro bono by the creative agency Y&R and by Eccetera Produzioni Audio with a single concept: children victims of abuse and mistreatment tell what they live at home through distorted fairy tales, inhabited more by orcs and dragons than by brave princes and where fairies do not use the wand to make spells.
Thanks to the partnership with B Solidarity, the Onlus born from the Serie B football league, the campaign is also of interest the Serie B football stadiums, through the web and social channels of Lega B and the 22 associated teams, and with a 30 ”TV spot included in the SKY schedule.
The fundraising of the CAF association for the World Day of the Rights of the Child
Alongside the awareness-raising activity, it is also planned a fundraising initiative which was born from the partnership with Spontini, a historic Milanese restaurant company.
In fact, on November 20, the 23 Spontini Pizzerias in Milan and its hinterland will join the campaign by allocating the activities of welcoming and caring for the children guests of the CAF Association part of the proceeds from the pizzas sold during the day.
